Paint With Me

Adult and Senior Painting Classes with Nancy Hunter 

The Huntsville Department of Community Services is pleased to be offering this series of five, three hour Adult and Senior watercolour painting classes with renowned artist, Nancy Hunter.   Nancy is a full-time artist/teacher. After a successful career as a corporate designer, illustrator, writer and educator, Nancy has returned to Muskoka to teach and learn about art for all ages. A dedicated artist with a passion for teaching, Nancy 's enthusiasm for art is contagious!   The workshop's are designed for beginners or advanced with step-by-step demonstrations in techniques, tricks and colour .  

All materials are supplied and you will take home a finished   watercolour masterpiece, signed by yourself. No previous experience in painting or drawing is required. Classes will be limited to 10 participants, so be sure to register early. We will be offering two sessions, a daytime and evening class. Participants must be 16+ years of age to take

part. All you need to bring is your paint smock, everything else will be provided.

Smart Serve Course

Ontario's Responsible Beverage Service Training Program

Huntsville Community Services are pleased to be able to offer this course. This program is for you if you want to minimize your liability. Anyone who is a volunteer or paid staff who is working in areas where alcohol is being sold and/or served-in bars, restaurants, banquet halls and other public facilities should take this course. This includes - managers, supervisors, bartenders, wait staff, door staff, security, golf course marshals and special occasion permit holders for catered and special events. The three hour course is made of up a workbook, video and test. Successful candidates will receive a wallet size certificate and lapel pin.

Yoga Classes

Daytime and Evening

Nourish your body, calm your mind.  Unwind from the everyday activities through a moderate yoga practice, taught by Katie Ross and Allie Chisholm-Smith.  Beginning and ending with guided relaxation will allow you to truly be present and enjoy your experience to the fullest.

The Huntsville Walking Club

Walk Your Way

Walking is one of the easiest and most popular ways to improve your fitness level.   Its other benefits include:

  • A decrease in blood pressure.
  • It helps control diabetes.
  • It helps to maintain body weight.
  • Relieves stress.
  • Strengthens muscles and bones.
  • Increases energy.       
 

Meet up with friends and join us for the group walks in the spring and fall.  No charge to take part.

Line Dancing

Classes are open to men and women of all ages and skill levels.  Suzette Nelson has been an instructor for 16 years.  Not sure which level you are - Come out for the first classs at 6:30 p.m. and stay until you find out!

Great selection of music - more than country, no dance partners needed.  Clean comfortable shoes that will slide (no hard black soles that will mark floors).

Three Levels - Tuesday nights

  • New Beginner  6:30 p.m
  • Advanced Beginner  7:30 p.m.
  • Intermediate  8:30 p.m.
