Applications, Licences & Permits

Marriage Licences

The Town of Huntsville issues licences for people getting married in Ontario. A marriage licence is valid for use anywhere in the Province of Ontario for a period of 3 months from the date of issue.

Application process

Both applicants must complete, print and sign an online marriage licence application. Town Staff will follow-up with an email to collect the required documentation and payment online as well as set-up an appointment.

Note: Appointments at this time are limited, cannot be guaranteed, and are subject to change.

Original identification and supporting documents for both parties are still required at the appointment. Applicants 16 or 17 years of age require parental consent before applying. The application fee is $175.00 (cash, debit, or credit card accepted). Complete applications will take approximately 30 minutes to process and, when issued, are valid for 90 days.

If you do not understand or read English, you must provide your own interpreter and they must provide identification. There are no residency or citizenship requirements in Ontario.

Supporting documents and identification

Two pieces of identification must be provided for both individuals. Any two of the following pieces of identification are accepted, provided at least one contains a current photo and signature:
