We are looking for a Manager of Taxation and Revenue to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Director of Financial Services/Treasurer, this role is responsible for property tax collection, maintaining tax accounts, assisting with financial budgeting, balancing, analysis and reporting. The manager will oversee a team consisting of a Taxation and Revenue Clerk and an Administrative Assistant.
The successful candidate will oversee tax collection processes, recommend policy improvements, supervise daily operations by Customer Service Staff, manage pre-authorized payment plans, and lead the collection of tax arrears, including legal proceedings and tax sales. As part of the finance management team, this position involves providing supervision and mentorship, ensuring operational goals are met, and supporting professional development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of municipal finance and taxation legislation, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering efficient, responsive service.
A post-secondary diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required, along with a minimum of one to two years of experience in a municipal finance setting. Preference will be given to candidates with supervisory experience, particularly those who have supported team development, conducted performance management, and contributed to the creation of standard operating procedures. Proficiency in personal computer applications, including Microsoft Office, is essential.
The salary range for this position is from $81,244.80 to $89,562.20 per year, based on a 35-hour work week, scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to a competitive salary, the Town of Huntsville offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health and dental coverage, participation in the OMERS pension plan, paid vacation, and access to various employee programs.
