New this year is Laser Tag in the Village on September 20.
Looking for some spooky Halloween plans? Come make a Ghoulish Family Craft on October 26. On October 31, walk The Great Pumpkin Trail - this event is fun for the whole family, providing a safe and traffic-free trick-or-treat experience.
Join the Orange Shirt Day March and Gathering on Monday, September 30, the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, in honour of the victims and survivors of residential schools, hosted by The Huntsville Public Library, the Friends of the Huntsville Library, Hope Arises Project and the Town of Huntsville. On the evening of September 30, there will be a screening of The Nature of Healing: Voices of Mohawk Institute Survivors at the Algonquin Theatre.
Fall is a perfect time to visit the Huntsville Public Library – with lots of amazing programming for all ages! You won’t want to miss Storytime with the Mayor on October 17, Paws to Read® on Thursdays from October 17 to November 28, Fire Prevention Storytime on October 10, and PA Day Halloween Green Screen & Button Making on October 25. For high school students, share your love of reading, gain leadership skills, and earn community involvement hours by joining the Teen Advisory Group (TAG), with monthly meetings on Tuesday afternoons.
Autumn weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered with both indoor and outdoor programming for all ages. For 55+, don’t miss the Healthy Active Living Expo presented by Muskoka Seniors on October 3 and the Thanksgiving Luncheon on October 7. Adult program offerings include our new Volleyball League, Adult Acting Program and a variety of Yoga classes. Youth programs include Active Kids, Move and Grove, Family Crafts, Art Club, and Drama Club. As always, we have a full line-up of Shinny & Skating programs for all ages.
Over at Centennial Pool, Swim Lessons 5 Years+ are changing to better serve the needs of the community; the levels have been slightly re-designed due to program evaluation and user feedback. New levels have been added to improve the learning experience, which allows for more time spent on swimming technique and aims to reduce the need to repeat levels. For reference during registration, a chart showing equivalency from old levels to new levels, as well as a peek at a basic skill learned in each level, is included in the guide.
As always, don’t forget about our full complement of Holiday & PA Day Camps for PA Days on October 25, November 22, and December 20 as well as some days during the Holiday Break in December/January. When school is out, camp is in – enjoy outdoor play, games, skating, and swimming.
