Media Release: Town of Huntsville Operations Update 2 - March 30, 2025

(Huntsville, ON) A Freezing Rain Warning by Environment Canada continues today for the Town of Huntsville and is forecast to continue until this evening. The Huntsville area has received a mix of snow and freezing rain over the past 24 hours causing fallen trees, power outages and significant ice buildup on roads, sidewalks and surfaces. Residents are advised to avoid non-essential travel.

Public Works crews continue to perform winter maintenance operations on primary and secondary roads and would like to thank the community for their patience as our teams work safely to perform winter operations.

Residents are encouraged to touch base with family, friends and neighbours as, during prolonged weather events, these touchpoints can make a meaningful difference to someone in need of assistance or support.

The Canada Summit Centre operations are running, and the building is open to the public until 11:00pm.

The District of Muskoka declared a Significant Weather Event effective March 29, 2025 which pertains to operations on all District roads.
