Brief history
- Ancestral territory of Anishinaabe
- 1850 - Robinson-Huron Treaty, #61
- 1869 - Namesake settler Captain George Hunt arrived
- 1876 - The locks on Brunel Road constructed
- 1886 - Rail arrived, Village of Huntsville (pop 700) incorporated
- 1901 - Huntsville (pop 2000) incorporated as a Town
- 1901 - Dr. Jacob W. Hart became the first Mayor of Huntsville. Learn about our past mayors
- 1923 - Williams Treaties
- 1926 - Town Hall was built
- 1971 - The Town of Huntsville was incorporated into the District Municipality of Muskoka
- 1986 - Huntsville Council proclaimed 1986 the Centennial Year
- 2036 - Huntsville's 150th Anniversary
